Breakfast Room

Breakfast in Falmouth Cornwall

Salmon bagels. Eggs benedict. Buttermilk pancakes with crispy pancetta and maple syrup. Expect the finest Cornish showcase in our new breakfast menus.

The St Michaels’ breakfast is all about getting your day off to a good start. Gaze out on ever-changing sea views and deliberate over our vast choices, served to both guests and non-residents from 7.30am until 10am every day.

FRESHLY COOKED FROM THE KITCHEN

How do you like your eggs in the morning? From sunny side up or scrambled in a full Cornish breakfast (complete with local hog’s pudding and sausages made just down the road) to a baked duck egg with mushroom compote, smoked Tintagel cheese and sourdough soldiers – there’s nothing quite like tucking into a lazy breakfast at St Michaels.

The spa brunch – a lighter option – features poached eggs, back bacon, a grilled tomato and sautéed spinach. And we wouldn’t be the Flying Fish without some tasty catches from the Cornish sea. Highlights include grilled mackerel with toasted focaccia, poached haddock with eggs and spinach, and hot smoked salmon on rye toast or bagels.

Choose a fresh juice or fairtrade coffee to go with a fruit salad, cereal, or organic yoghurt with apricots and Earl Grey prunes. For those seeking sweetness, we thoroughly recommend our artisan breads, croissants and pastries with lashings of marmalade and honey. Or for continental decadence, opt for a platter of local cheeses, hams and salami.

new additions

Head Chef Anthony said: “Our new hearty house beans are a big hit at breakfast. We slow-cook them each morning with smoked bacon then serve on griddled sourdough for a lip-smacking flavour combination. My favourite dish this summer has to be the bubble and squeak cake though!”

If you’re looking for a little indulgence this summer, we’re also serving sparkling wine by the glass. Cornish Knightor Brut is an elegant tipple to wake up to, with a vibrant bead of fine bubbles and light floral aromas of peach and apple.

One of our happy diners recently said: “The breakfast service was great with lots of local produce – a fantastic choice of cooked breakfasts and a delicious cold buffet to rival many I have had across Europe.”
